There are many plants in the tropical rainforest. There are over 300 plants that are unknown. They are each individually unique, but they have one thing in common they have adapted to their environment in order to survive in the their habitat of minimal sunlight.
Many of the plants leaves have something called a drip tip. The drip tip can be found at the end of a leaf. Its purpose is to drain out the leaves from water. If they did not have the drip dip they would most likely flood .

This is an example of of a plant that has a drip tip. They are scattered throughout the tropics. In India they are sacred to the Hindus and Buddhists.

The Double Coconut is the largest seed in the plant kingdom. It
can reach 100 feet in height; its leaf blades can be up to 20 feet in length and the diameter can be up to 12 feet. For centuries people believed they came from the Maldive Islands, now we know they are typically located on the East
coast of Africa and in the Indian ocean.
